About

Gignal - A Social Distribution Platform.
Gignal amplifies your event by presenting and boosting all the social media buzz produced by your audience.

When people share an experience they also share it with their network, through status updates on Twitter and Facebook, check-ins and pictures. Gignal collects and presents all the content from an event across social networks.

We present content from Twitter, Facebook event pages, Gowalla, Foursquare, Flickr and any photo postet from Twitter.

We present the buzz:
On physcial screens.
On your website - with our widget.
On Gignal’s site.

We gather data based on the event tag, and the geo-tag based on the venue.

Gignalism
“We are no longer people of the book, we are now people of the screen” - Kevin Kelly Senior Maverick at Wired said, and that is exactly the trend Gignal supports. We look at screens all the time, on our mobile phones, on our laptops, TV’s and on public screens. We do it because we want to be updated and connected. We trust people that we know and share an interest with - and when we share a collective experience at events.

We have seen the effect of the stream from Football games to the Arab Spring, people at the physical location engage each other to spread viral messages, and people around the world follow and participate online.

We want screens at venues to bring value to their audience. We want to amplify experiences at events. We want to connect people at a physical location with people watching online. Because there is no past and there is no future - there is just a real-time stream.

Our Story
It all started with NordicMeetup in 2010, an event our CEO Natasha Friis Saxberg organize together with Petra Johansson, to connect the Nordic Startup Scene. We were having our first event in Copenhagen, but wanted to share who were actually participating, the online conversations and pictures with the rest of the Nordic region. We hacked Gignal over a weekend and made it ready to present NordicMeetup Copenhagen online.

A few months later the Danish television station TV2 were presenting the World Cup in soccer and needed a social element that could entertain and engage the audience. We offered them to use Gignal and we decided to focus on building a stream that could amplify events and distribute social network buzz. That summer more than 300.000 audiences saw Gignal on physical screens at several events.

Our future vision for Gignal is to build a stream that will engage and entertain audiences while spreading events from a physical location - to everyone online in the world that wants to participate through the conversations created by the people on the first row.
